On my Mac, which was the recipient of the beta System Events prior to
the 10.2.4 update, I now have System Events 1.1.1 and System Events
(Get Info indicates v1.2). A search revealed no other instances of
System Events, indicating that the beta has been overwritten or
deleted. System Events 1.2 appears to include the GUI scripting
terminology that was available in the beta.
I wonder why we see different results after updating.
We're seeing exactly the same thing. The Mac OS X 10.2.4 updater includes
System Events 1.1.2, but it isn't installed if you previously installed
System Events 1.2 (as you just confirmed). Instead, the old 1.1.1 is left on
your disk, along with 1.2 beta. Isn't that what I said?
I think the version numbers are causing confusion (at least for me).
The System Events beta has now been referred to as v2.0 and v1.2.
It's possible that there were betas that I'm not aware of and this
may be the cause of my confusion.
All I can say with certainty is that I now have System Events 1.2 and
it appears to include all of the GUI scripting terminology. I see no
indication that it is beta software. <shrug>
Thanks for the notes on all of the 10.2.4 changes! :-)
