network time server scripting/syntax

  • Subject: network time server scripting/syntax

I searched the archive on 'network time server' and found some posts, but
nothing that seemed appropriate.

I'd like to set up cron (OS X 10.2.4) to sync Date and Time with a
network time server. I'm using IPNR on a 7.6.1 PB as gateway, and a dial
on demand connection.

For my mail connections I use a script to run a terminal 'ping' and delay
sufficient time for a connection to be established. If Date and Time is
scriptable I would set a cron event to run in a similar manner once a day.

Can it be done and if so, could someone provide an example of (Date and
Time) syntax?

Martin
