Does that make sense?
Try something like this, James:
======================================
set {tid, text item delimiters, l, w} to [NO-BREAK]
{text item delimiters, "{", {}, "ImageSaver"}
repeat with f in extContent's text items's rest
if f contains w then set l's end to f's word 8
end repeat
set text item delimiters to tid
-- do something with l
======================================
(Since the first text item of extContent will be whatever comes before the
first "{", I've assumed that you won't be interested in it. The use of
'rest' effectively removes that first item from the list - so that it's not
needlessly processed within the repeat loop.)
