I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I'm wanting to
transfer taped
interviews to a digital form. What I would like to do is, at the end of day,
plug the table player into the audio port on the Mac, start it recording, and
have it stop recording after a set time (depending on tape length) up to 45
minutes.
Does anyone know if there anything that I can tell to start/stop
recording which
will record audio input (or failing that manually set the time to record).
Try Felt Tip Sound Studio <
http://www.felttip.com> -- I originally
found it on VersionTracker. The app works fine for me under both OS
10.2.3 and 9.2.
It has a timer facility (which I've not yet had occasion to use) that
lets you define any combination of 1. when to start recording, 2.
when to pause/stop recording, 3. after how long to stop recording,
and 4. after how many seconds of audio input silence to pause/stop
recording.
The app is also scriptable, and comes with sample scripts that look
like they can easily be modified to do what you require.
Sound Studio's not freeware, but you do get a full-featured demo for
14 days to take it for a test drive.
Hope that helps!
