Hi List,
Another quick question to tap into your experiences. Making a little
application that will store some data - not a lot...about 150 records in one
"table" and about 500-600 records in another. Each record will contain only
between 3 - 6 fields.
Question is this..I'm using FaceSpan 3.5.2 (on OS 9) to build the interface.
What is the best way to store the data I need to work with? Should I use
tables, text files, etc? The logic is simple enough that I can script the
relationships.
For example, my first table will be "customers", with about 150 max records.
They will each have up to 4 related records in the "preferences" table. The
"customer" table is very very simple - just "name" and "ID" and the
"preferences" table will have 6 fields.
I am not very familiar with FaceSpan or the variety of scripting additions
or tools that might provide a means to store this data reliably. I did read
that FaceSpan storage items should not be used for volatile data...so what
is the alternative for a very lightweight storage tool. I don't want to
introduce FileMaker if I can avoid it.
If anyone could offer some ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve
