As a former desktop publisher, I give Jon extra points for this.
As a long time sender of messages in iso-8859-1 that does not contain
the character and as a current user of an operating system that deals
in utf-8 and a present poster to an Apple list that will not display
it I'd rather sacrifice my high artistic scruples
for a bit of functionality.
By the way, what does inches curly apostrophe inches mean?
