Photoshop building histograms for no reason while running scripts...

  • Subject: Photoshop building histograms for no reason while running scripts...

Am I doing something something very wrong while scripting Photoshop? I have
run into two specific cases where Photoshop will start calculating
histograms, when I didn't ask for it...

set currentPath to file path of current document
set currentComponentchannels to component channels of current document

These two lines should return the path, and the names of the component
channels, but both start Photoshop on a histogram calculation prior to
returning their result... Causing VERY lengthy waiting times if the document
is large.

Could any one please give me a tip on how to avoid this behaviour, or a
possible work around, I'm stuck, especially for the "path" part...

Thanks!
