Scripting iPhoto

Greetings,

The Apple.com web site indicates that a lot of the pre-installed
applications
like iPhoto are fully scriptable. However whenever I try to open
a dictionary for any iPhoto I get the
message "Couldn't complete last command because application or extension
is not scriptable; Result code = 1006. On the other hand, I can execute
some
of the sample AppleScripts for iPhoto which are available at
http://www.apple.com/applescript/iphoto/. Does anyone know why I can't
get the dictionary to open?
