Get remote ip address

  • Subject: Get remote ip address

Is there a way to get the IP address of a remote machine, if the machines
name and zone is known?

The reason for this is that in order to control Filemaker remotely on these
machines (OS9) from a machine running OSX, it needs to be done using the
eppc address. However, the remote machines are on DHCP so their IP
addresses change, so by using the machine name stays the same, which is
constant, and initially connecting using 3machine x in zone x2, can I then
remotely find out what the IP address of that machine is?

Thanks

Michael
