Getting the current selection in photoshop

  • Subject: Getting the current selection in photoshop

Working on a photoshop script that uses an action to set the selection. Then
I want to make a new document the same size as that select, copy, paste and
save as png.

The problem is that I cannot figure out how to get the size of a selection
so that I can make the size of the new document.
