Well, they are different representations of the same essential thing. Each
has to be interpreted to get what you want. For your particular purpose,
AEPrint probably comes closer to what you want.
AEPrint began long ago (under a table in the closet [1]) as a way of
outputting Apple Event Manager structures to text in a way another tool
could rebuild them as Apple Event Manager structures. It has cycled from
deprecated to almost official and back a few times.
[1] Jens must have been really uncomfortable working that way. ;-)
