How to get network location information under OS X?

Hi!

Since I am using a laptop and do move around between a few locations, I switch between a handful of network locations. Some of my scripts would need to modify their behaviour according to the network location and for that decision-making in the scripts at least the name of the current network location would be needed. However, I do not know, how to best extract the location information from the system. OS 9 had the scriptable Location Manager, in OS X I suspect the System Preferences is the source, but its AS dictionary seems not to give sufficient information to proceed. Anyone out there able to help out?

Please cc: your reply to me directly as well, best regards

Tero Siili
