do shell script problems

  • Subject: do shell script problems

Hello.

When I run the command:
set x to do shell script "perldoc perlthrtut | cat"
I get an error saying "Can't make some data into the expected type."

When I run the command:
set x to do shell script "perldoc perl | cat"
or the same command with most of the other perldoc categories instead of "perlthrtut," this doesn't happen.

Any ideas/workarounds? This seems very strange.
