Basically, I would like to create a date - time stamp that ideally would
look like the following

IDEAL1: 01-06-03 09-23-21 AM (mm-dd-yy)
IDEAL2: 2003-01-06 09-23-21 AM (yyyy-mm-dd)

Arthur made the hard part of the reply. Let me add a few comments:

1. if you use Smile, it owns an (undocumented) "make new name" command, which returns an IDEAL3:
030107_152341 (with fixed numbers of characters).

Question: I would like to drop the Jaguar 10.2.3 Finder on AppleScript to
see its dictionary... But I don't know where is ... Do you?

2. if you mean "were it (the Finder) is", yes, I know.

2 bis. it is in "System/Library/CoreServices/"

2 ter. if you use Smile, its "Open dictionary" menu is a sub-menu which includes "Finder", very convenient to open quickly Finder's dictionary.

BTW: last time I asked a while back, I was told and let the Finder for
Jaguar 10.2.x was not recordable. Is that still the case?

3. Yes.
