Under OS 9, we had the capability of setting file extension mappings by scripting the app File Exchange. Does anyone know how to gain the equivalent functionality under OS X?

The reason I ask is because I want to automate changing the ".asp" file extension to map to the Citrix ICA client, not to the Apple System Profiler (which is the default). I couldn't find anything in the Finder dictionary, or in any other documentation, on how do do this.

We in the process of migrating to a portal-based Citrix system on our Macs, and it would be very time consuming for all our Mac OS X users to be set up manually.

Another nice capability would be the ability to script the creation of MIME-type file helpers, so Mac OS X browsers could for instance, associate application/x-ica with the Citrix client app.

Thanks for any help on this!
