Mr Tea,

I actually just wrote (2 days ago) a neat little script that opens a dialog,
you enter a file extension, and then it tells you the default application
for that extension, as set in your prefs. You can alternatively launch that
app if you'd like.

A companion script will actually write out a text file with all the file
mappings your system has registered.

I thought it was pretty cool...if I might say so.

Want me to send it to you offlist? (It's short enough to post, actually, if
you'd rather.)
