Install Mac OS X on a sandbox machine, customizing the install and omitting
the BSD subsystem. Now try the things you routinely do (including running
Apple's installer to install something that uses it).

Now reinstall a working system without customizing BSD Subsystem away.

Note: I have not performed that customization and testing.
