Not quite sure why you're asking the question on the AppleScript users
list. You'll probably get bottled for that by someone else, so it's
probably better not to mention it.

With the spreadsheet open, from the select the menu
Tools->Preferences->General. There should be, if you're lucky, and with
great likelihood even if you're not, an option for 'Macro Virus
Protection'. Uncheck it, close the preferences and try it again. Works
for me on OS922/excel98.

i am trying to open (os9/ excel98) an spreadsheet with
a vba-makro in it. that brings up a message like "do you
really want ...". how can i open this sheet avoiding the
message and activating the makros?
