Is one 'better' (more portable, faster, reliable, etc) than the other? My
actual application of these processes is, briefly:
The main working script droplet has a property, called 'already', which is
initially = false.
I have a line in both the run and open handlers which says:
if not already then configureMe()
I want to be able to change the value of 'already' by dropping the first
script onto a second droplet which will simply change the value of 'already'
back to false.
(This, so that I don't have to use an osax like Jon's to catch keypresses
for resetting.)
The first-run condition (when 'already' is false) asks the user a series of
questions, so I'd like to be able to have things reset by simply dropping
the main script droplet onto a "resetter droplet".
Capiche? Advice on which method is more appropriate...or is 6 of one, half
dozen the other?

A two cents here.
I was wondering if you couldn't inverse the logics, and just reset the
'already' property by dragging a file on your main script.
Either your main script presently doesn't have a 'open' handler, or you
could adapt it so as to check the dropped file (for example, a
combination of file name and size).
