FileMaker not responding to AS in 9.2

I've been working some some scripts and testing them on both 9.2 and 10.2.
Suddenly, any AS command sent to FileMaker produces the error "Application
does not run in this environment." I am booted in 9.2 (not classic) and the
application is running in this environment. The scripts compile without
problem. Any ideas? I've rebuilt the desktop and run Norton.
