Hi, I've been struggling with a chunk of a script in which I need to embed a linked image in Illustrator 10.0.3 (in OS X).

I can only think of nightmarish, laborious workarounds - can anyone think of a simple solution before I embark on one of my nasty solutions?

Assuming a long list of restrictions (that we can detail privately), Smile can do that fairly elegantly.

In short, Smile will do that with pleasure if we're talking pdf's, and if we're talking about a document with only one page.
