Deivy and Dave & list,
It gets stranger and stranger (to me)
If I append ".app" to "Help Viewer" as soon as I click "check syntax" the
extension disappears, the name becomes "Help Viewer" again, but the script
compiles and runs. When it runs, it still does the same as before (starts
9).
If I enter a few spaces after the name, thus forcing Script Editor to open
the choose application dialog, I can clearly see both Help Viewers, the
modern and the classic one. I choose the modern one, the script compiles OK,
but on run, well, starts System 9.
This is happening using either the older Script Editor or the new one (2.0
Beta), 10.2.3 & 9.2, G4 dual 867, copying originally from iRafas (Safari for
the connoisseurs)
I check to see whether there might have been some hidden character brought
in with the service from Safari, but nope. I paste it as unstyled text, I
check the invivisbles in BBEdit...nothing there.
I replace Help Viewer with, say, BBEdit 6.5, it runs as expected ("Hello")
I am clueless. Its just between Script Editor and Help Viewer...
