I had to get a count of all the UI elements of the Print window and then

Could you give an example of this? It's not the same with TextEdit as there is another level of Unknowns. I think if I get that, I can use your code. I'm not sure. Anyway, how can I work through the indices like that?

I just tried a bit of this out of curiosity. It looks like it would work but what a bother getting there. I installed the "ESP GhostScript" (available from Apple's website) and print to PDF from that. It works with CUPS <http://localhost:631";>. What a breeze! And printing from the command line directly to my PostScript printer is so easy compared to scripting that window.
