No, nothing prevents this, apart from that nagging feeling that it's not
the most elegant way, and that the elegant way does actually exist, and is
only a few keystrokes away.

I think you're right. Probably the slightly better way would be to have
multiple config files and make copies of them as needed, and rename the
copies (so you never lose the original, and Analog always has a config file
to work with). Thanks also to Nigel Smith, who made the same suggestion.
