GUI Scripting & Missing Values

  • Subject: GUI Scripting & Missing Values

Certain properties do not appear to be available. I'm trying to read the following properties of a text area: selected & selected text range. They each return "missing value". I know I have a reference to the correct text area because the value property is correct.

Has anyone been able to do this successfully? I know this is beta software but I'm already suspicious that these properties will never be implemented.

The main reason I'm trying to do this is to write code templates for Project Builder. Project Builder does not appear to be scriptable in terms of text and selections. I'm using the hot key editor "Youpi Keys" to paste text but I'd like to be able to insert text with good balance. Let me know if anyone's been able to script text in Project Builder.

Thanks,
Philip
