Before spending a lot of time on an AppleScript to do what you are asking (which may be solving a meta problem, not the REAL problem), what, exactly, are you trying to achieve?
I do web hosting. Along with this comes mail, list server, DNS, etc. My mail server employs RBLs to stop much spam but much still gets through. (Sadly, my mail server actually rejects more mail than it accepts -- spam is *that* bad.)
Currently SpamSieve does a commendable job of catching spam on my own Mac and transferring it to a mailbox named "Spam."
By analyzing the IP addresses of the servers that send spam email to me, personally, I can learn the addresses I need to manually add to my mail server's blacklist. I've been doing it by hand. This is time consuming. I'd like to automate it.
So..., if I can get an AppleScript to extract the IP addresses from the Received: From headers, in verified spam (from my own spam mailbox in Eudora), it will benefit all my clients' email accounts as well as my own.
