It means a lot, as will become clear at MacWorld (or whatever they call it) next week.

MetaCard is the genesis of Revolution. It was started about twelve years ago on Unix, and came to Windows and then Macintosh. Revolution was originally based on MetaCard's underlying engine. Then Revolution took on a significant portion of the engine development. Now Revolution has bought MetaCard out, becoming the master of their own destiny, so to speak. The consequences of that are many, but the first big changes that will result will be announced next week.
