Maybe Smile's dialogs are closer to what you expected from DD. The scripting model in Smile may be found more versatile and cool to debug than AppleScript Studio. Smile sort of includes Script Editor + AppleScript Studio + Interface Builder + TextEdit - and its price reflects this integrated structure: $0 + $0 + $0 + $0.
