Applescripting Preview or print to pdf for pdf creation

Does anyone have a way to applescript Preview.app for pdf creation? I
noticed it doesn't seem to be scriptable. Alternatively, a folder
action with a loop script via print to pdf would be nice. I need to
change large numbers of jpegs of calendars into pdf's. I have not had
much success to this point and was hoping for a pointer or two.
