UI Scripting FileMaker

I haven't had any success in trying to directly access elements (e.g., buttons, radio buttons, etc.) in FileMaker using GUI scripting. I've downloaded the demo version of UI Browser and the code it generates isn't helping me. Am I wasting my time or has somebody figured out how to do it?
