I think he meant for the Finder to change file names on its own accord.

It has to be told to change it, and what to change it to. In your

example, the user changed it by means of an applescript.
Doh!
But nothing changes file names of its own accord...I hope. :)

RE: of War and Weirdness
My mother and I wildly speculated for a wonderful, funny, Ludlum-like
half-hour yesterday about these 2 odd 'coincidences':
George Tenet, the most major dem held over from the prior administration, is
all over the news taking the wrap for the uncertain intel about WMD. But
there is still the ongoing investigation about where the forged bills of
sale for the phantom nuclear material purchase by Iraq came from.
The next week (last week), the cover of the New York Times had that eerie
English murder scene photo, with its stark white tent along the woods line,
and the victim under that tent was a "key link" in that forged document
investigation.
After two cups of coffee and plenty of wild theorizing, we concluded: vast
international Black Ops, probably with Angelina Jolie somehow involved, what
with this UN ambassador role of hers, which is surely a cover. ;)
:-)
