Is there any way to convert an alias or file reference in AppleScript to the form of path name that Unix shells accept? This would be useful for scripting Terminal or using the do shell script addition.

Use "posix path of" ( Or perhaps "quoted form of posix path of..." , which will
handle things like "New Folder:" )
