Thanks everyone for the zero answers I got.

Maybe it's that no one knew the answer to your question, and decided not to clog up the list with "I don't know."

me too! ( i.e. "I don't know" )
I assume this is the original message Paul refers to:

I've an EXIF text file from which I need to keep some lines (like 1, 6,
7, 11, 17) Each time the same lines. How can this be done in
Applescript? How to start?

I thought an EXIF file was just a JPEG/JFIF file with some extra EXIF annotations.
( See: <http://www.ba.wakwak.com/~tsuruzoh/Computer/Digicams/exif-e.html>)

What is an "EXIF text file" ?
Just a text file to which those annotations have been dumped ?
In what format ? ( tab-delim, XML, name:value pairs ? )

And what do you mean by "keep some lines" ?
Do you want to extract those lines write them to another file ?
Put them in a database of some sort ?

I don't think most of applescript-users understands what you're asking --
I know I don't!

It might help if you mentioned if you are trying to script some particular EXIF understanding app --
like iView or, I presume, Photoshop ( I don't think iPhoto does, no Image capture. )

You might also try the iView form:
