[Apple List Admin] Vacation response problems (was Ethan Rips, your autoreply gone renegade!)

Hi All,

Someone is always at home at Apple, and this type of thing *is* handled by list admins and the site admin, but you have to tell us about the problem first. We don't constantly monitor the mailing lists, particularly when we are just plain busy. We rely on users to e-mail the list admins when something has gone awry (and when we do hear of such a problem, we address it right away). Please e-mail email@hidden in the event that a vacation autoresponder has gone haywire, or e-mail the list admin at email@hidden. Posting to the list only adds to the problem.

In addition, when the site admin (that's me) ends up reviewing his postmaster mail and finds that an event like this has occurred, he often reviews every post on the issue. Subscribers with that "Maybe I shouldn't have sent that" feeling often pause before posting in the future.

Thanks!

Kevin

This should be handled by a list administrator. We shouldn't have to change our subscriptions from digest mode to individual mode just to be able to filter the guy.

Questions is, is there anyone at home @ Apple? This has been going on for
over a week now.
