Check for network connection

I have looked thru the archives, but I cannot seem to locate what I am looking for..

What I am trying to do is create a daily script that can "ping", or use some other method, to check a 40 or more 56k frame relay netowrk connections.

I am using OS 9, AS 1.8.3

I would like to just check to see if the router on the far end is up, but if I must, I could always try a computer on the other end. I would not want to use Appletalk to attempt to mount a volume, as this take just way too long.

thanx

tod
