If you did not already, I suggest that you check that your colleague is running a non-bogus version of AppleScript. If "Get Info" on the AppleScript extension displays 1.7, 1.8.1 or 1.8.2, then that's it, (s)he has to downgrade to 1.6 or upgrade to 1.8.3.
