I need to create a path that appears in the Export Dialog of an application

always exactly the same on all OSX computers.

I can't help you there; I've never tried to script Filemaker. But I think what I suggested would work.

tell application "Finder" to set the destination to home
tell application "FileMaker Pro" to save <whatever> to the destination

Would be possible to create an alias to a folder and "mount" that alias as a
drive, so it appears at the highest level of the File Dialogs, using
applescript.?

I don't think so; I'm not sure, though.
