Get a firwall appliance like sonicwall. Put that between your hub or switch and your internet router. It has a simple browser based admin that any novice can setup and administer. Their website has a demo where you can see exactly how the controls work. It's only a few hundred bucks and is a very solid device. You can control traffic in or out very easily. This is not a job for AppleScript. I've set up several of these, and they work great. You can buy from most mail order computer dealers. see links below...HTH
