This isn't the only workable syntax for multiple modifier keys, but it works
and I happen to prefer it.

No encryption. I just prefer to use the international ISO 8601 standard for
date formatting, which puts the year first and therefore allows sorting in
chronological order. See, for example,
<http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/iso-time.html>. I have lately begun using
the century digits, as a hint to people who aren't conversant with
international standards, viz., yyyy-mm-dd, as in 2003-06-13. :-)
