Nothing accidental about it! I'm not as green as you seem to find me cabbage-looking. I have explicitly stated the fact in previous postings to the list. The reason I wrote

set shebang to "#!/usr/bin/perl" & (ASCII character 10)

instead of just putting the shebang as first paragraph of the script is precisely because it is necessary if people are not using SE 2.
