I have tried to keep Script Timer as close to iDo in features as I
can. (I can't do perl and shell scripts yet, but plan to have that
for the next version. On the other hand, Script Timer has a few
features that iDo doesn't, like the ability to specify a stop time
for a repeating action.)
Script Timer is only $12.

I have found iDo Script Scheduler to be solid on OS X. I'm able to pass
it variables to pass to my scripts. It runs PERL scripts, shell
scripts, compiled Applescripts...It keeps track if scripts are missed

it will hold scripts till competing scripts are finished if necessary.
Click a button and I can edit my script in my favorite Script Editor
right from iDo. Scripts can be run on a "system idle".
All from within a simple GUI and only $24.95.
I guess you could re-invent the wheel, but why?
