Hello:
I am moving from OS 9.2.2 to OS X and need to move all my email from Outlook
Express to Mail.
I have several thousand mail messages I need to move from OE's database to
Mail and hopefully retain the folder structure.
I go through the "import" routine, but it only recognizes an "In" box,
nothing else. I tired to move folders containing messages into the IN box to
see if would see them, but then the folders seem to vanish for eternity. I
can no longer see them in the in box or anywhere else, although the database
file is still there unchanged (or I hope it is anyway).
Is there a way to force OE to re-read the database so I can see those
folders again? Or a database repair utility? (Fishing for ANY help at this
point, panic button about to be pushed)
I have tried everything I can think of, nothing manually works so far. Is
there a script that can read OE's databases and get these messages into
Mail?
In Mail, when I do the import command, it launches OE and Classic, but I
have no options presented to me when importing (what identity to use, what
database, etc.). NO options are presented. It finds an IN box from somewhere
and imports nothing. An empty folder called "Import" is created in the
mailboxes.
In a "help" (biting tounge) file from Apple, it suggest that when importing,
I click the "browse" button presented to browse to the OE identity folder
and import that way. I tried several times, but have yet to see this
"browse" button they refer to.
Does a scripting or other solution exist for me to extract those messages
from the OE database files?
Ken
