Corrupt Finder Dictionary/Preference?

Hi,
The following **stopped** working for me:
tell application "Finder"
set allProcesses to name of every process
set FrontApp to (name of every process whose frontmost is true)
end tell
Running the Script gives this error message:
"Finder got an error: Can't get name of every process."
If I log in as root, the error goes away...
Any ideas on what is corrupted?
