I hadn't, but my syntax seems to conform to the examples, except that
I'm not specifying the "using" clause with 'say' to specify a voice.
The dictionary says this is optional anyway.
However, the "listen for" example on that web page ALSO locks up the
Speech System on my computers! (two TiBooks and an iMac). Never issues
the vocal prompt, and the cursor does the pizza of death when over the
microphone icon or the speech commands window.
3 speech processes are running, all 3 say 0% CPU:
Speech Feedback Server 0% CPU 0.5% ram
Speech Synthesis Server 0% CPU 0.2% ram
Speech Recognition Server 0% CPU 0.3% ram
Bug at OS level ?. (I'll be VERY happy if it proves not to be the
case!). One of those TiBooks was erased and re-installed from scratch
last week, it's as close to virgin spec as it's possible to be. All 3
are running 10.2.6, fsck says the disks are fine, and I've repaired
permissions on all 3.
