Q: Using ResEdit to view [scpt] resources (to inspect properties)

  • Subject: Q: Using ResEdit to view [scpt] resources (to inspect properties)

In an effort to break the 'Mexican Stand-off' position I've reached on a
particular scripting project (it works, but I have to recompile it every
time) I've resorted to looking at the script (a stay-open app) in ResEdit.

Unfortunately, there's no built-in template for viewing 'scpt' or 'reco'
resources and they open in the hex-editor, which is hex-Dutch to me. I can
just about make out the contents by forcing them to use the 'wstr' template
but they don't display correctly.

I have in the dim and distant past created & added new templates to ResEdit,
but I can't remember exactly how I did it.

Does anyone on the list know about this stuff and more importantly have
'scpt' and 'reco' templates or instructions on how to make them?

TIA
