IPTC text/image merge

Hello all,
General question here. I am not trolling for someone else to solve this
necessarily, but helpful pointers to third party solutions would be
gratefully accepted.
I have a text file of tab-delimited items (where the first line in the
text file describes the contents of each tab: Filename, Title, Credit,
Keywords) that corresponds to a list of images. The filenames of the images
match the filename attribute in the text list (the first tab). Is there a
utility out there that might employ applescript to merge these two and
produce a new folder of images with the IPTC fields now padded?
Suggestions welcome. I have a copy of Image Info 3, but suspect this to
be a strict retrieval tool rather than an augmenter.
Thanks,
Timothy
