Coping files for backup.

I need to create a script that copies files from various folders to one
location. All these files are modified within a period so I can find them
using sherlock, but it won't let me copy them to a new location so I can
burn them to disk. It will allow me to move them however I must maintain the
original file hierachy.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
