How did Camino rewrite my scripts?

As many of you probably know, the browser formerly known as
Chimera/Navigator changed its name to Camino in the most recent release.

I had a number of Navigator scripts which I trigger via a DragThing dock
which is application-specific.

Anticipating having to rewrite the scripts to reflect the name change, I
duplicated them and created a new folder for Camino scripts. Imagine my
surprise when I began to open the copies in the Script Editor (OS X 10.2.4)
and found that almost all instances of "Navigator" had already been changed
to "Camino".

How'd they do that? Could this power be misused?
