QXP5 and Layers

I am using QXP 5 to build flyers. I transfer all the info from Filemaker to QXP using AS with no problems except that I am having problems calling on or creating layers in QXP. I've checked the Dictionary and can't find anything. I was able to do this with QXP4 and Xpert layers. I know that I am probably missing something simple. Any help is appreciated.
