My whole point was pedantic. It's the application enforcing this, not AppleScript. None of these errors are AppleScript errors, they are run time errors, reported by the application. AppleScript enforces nothing. The application does it all. AppleScript doesn't even look at the containment specified in an application's dictionary.
None of this really matters though and I should have just kept my big mouth shut. I didn't even pay for an argument.
